Joint Managing Director, Tengile River Lodge & Kirkman’s Kamp
Caroline Burke’s journey through Africa’s most revered wildernesses is not just a career — it’s a calling. As the newly appointed CEO of Tengile River Lodge and Kirkman’s Kamp, she brings a rare blend of soulful leadership, intuitive hospitality, and a deep reverence for the bush. Every decision she makes, from team culture to guest experience, is rooted in purpose: to honour place, protect legacy, and unlock awe.
With over two decades spent curating high-touch travel experiences across the continent, Caroline leads with both clarity and heart. She thrives on building teams that feel more like families, where each individual is empowered to create moments that linger long after the dust has settled. Her vision is not only to preserve the magic of these iconic lodges, but to evolve them - sensitively, boldly, and always in harmony with the land. At a time when true connection feels more precious than ever, Caroline sees luxury as less about opulence and more about presence. Under her guidance, Tengile and Kirkman’s are set to become sanctuaries of stillness and story, places where guests don’t just visit, but return to themselves.
Joint Managing Director, Tengile River Lodge & Kirkman’s Kamp
Savannah Saad brings a rare duality to African hospitality, one part deeply connected to brand and bush, one part business strategist. As a new-generation steward of Tengile River Lodge and Kirkman’s Kamp, she plays a key role in guiding the next era of these beloved Sabi Sand icons, working closely alongside CEO Caroline Burke to elevate the lodges while honouring their soul.
With a background in investment banking and asset management at firms like Rand Merchant Bank and Anchor Capital, Savannah possesses a sharp commercial instinct and a deep understanding of long-term value creation. But it’s her warmth, openness, and quiet magnetism that truly set her apart. Guests, staff, and partners alike are drawn to her ability to listen, lead, and act with intention.
Driven by a profound love for Africa’s wilderness, Savannah believes that the most powerful guest experiences are born at the intersection of purpose and presence. Her approach blends careful stewardship with bold vision, always in tune with the rhythms of the bush and the emotional richness of shared moments. Under her influence, Tengile and Kirkman’s Kamp aren’t just being preserved, they’re being thoughtfully reimagined for the generations still to come.
